Winterberry

Winterberry, sometimes called black alder, is a shrub related to the American holly. Many winterberry plants grow in swamps and wet, wooded areas in eastern North America. The plant grows 6 to 12 feet (2 to 4 meters) tall. Its bright red berries appear in autumn.
