Griffin

Griffin was a strange creature of Greek mythology, with the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion. There was a great store of gold in Scythia, a country far to the northeast of Greece. The griffins guarded the gold from the Arimaspians, who were constantly trying to steal it.
