Isoniazid

Isoniazid, << `y` soh NY uh zihd, >> is one of the most effective drugs used in the treatment of tuberculosis. Its chemical name is isonicotinic acid hydrazide (INH). Isoniazid is synthesized (made artificially) from other compounds. American chemists developed the drug in the early 1950’s.
