Anti-Monopoly Party

Anti-Monopoly Party was active in U.S. politics in 1884. The party opposed monopolies in business. In 1884, it joined with the Greenback Party in backing Benjamin F. Butler of Massachusetts for President. The party broke up after Butler received only 175,000 votes. See also Butler, Benjamin F.
