Victoria Cross

Victoria Cross is the highest military decoration awarded in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth of Nations. The sovereign awards it for exceptional bravery in the face of the enemy. Queen Victoria established the award in 1856. Fewer than 1,500 people have won the award.
