Mount Mitchell

Mount Mitchell, in western North Carolina, is the highest point east of the Mississippi River. It is 6,684 feet (2,037 meters) high and is in Mount Mitchell State Park, 20 miles (32 kilometers) northeast of Asheville. The peak is part of the Black Mountains.
