Yen

Yen is the monetary unit of Japan. Coins in denominations of 5, 10, 50, 100, and 500 yen are commonly used. Paper money is printed in denominations of 1,000; 5,000; and 10,000 yen. The sen and rin, smaller denominations of the yen, were removed from circulation in 1954 but are used as units for calculation.
